I think that if you do an initial consultation with a potential client, you can start to eliminate the need for “the who are you and what can you do for me scenario”. I like Joe’s (Joe Stumpf; http://www.byreferralonly.com) “go deep” strategy – the better a job I do with that, the better my relationship with my client.
